LGBTQ+ movies and series recomendations
Happy pride month everyone!
To celebrate, I will give you my recommendations on LGBT+ themed movies and series so we can play justice to the purpose of this month.
Okja (2017)
What’s interesting about this movie is that
is basically a critic to people who eat meet without thinking about
the multiple murder and abuse all the animals they eat have to suffer just for
us to eat something that has stopped being so necessary in our diets.
The film is really good and it makes you
think about the reality of things, if you want to see it is in Netflix, is
about
two hours long, is in both Korean and
English so you might need subtitles but is worth it.
Why we love dogs eat pigs and wear cows
Melanie Joy
With the movie, I’d like to recommend as well the book “Why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows”, is about carnism and it explains why we (humans) still eat (some) animals without the thought of the slaughterhouses even crossing our minds, yet we love other animals and can’t even imagine them suffering like the other animals do since they are born.
It also dismantles the idea of vegetarianism and the moral behind it, as well as giving a lot of examples of why eating animals the way we do is so wrong in the century we are in.
I really like it and is very very interesting so make sure to give it a try, even after seeing the movie is still something that I think about on the daily.
Three
highly anticipated and controversial films from the cinema in 2021
Cruella
Directed by Craig Gillespie
recognized by several films replaces Alex Timbers as main director of this
long-awaited film that deals with the antagonist or the villain of 101
Dalmatians film in which Cruella is shown as a fan of animal skins, in this
film Gillespie tries to show the human side and the background of what is known
as Cruella in 101 Dalmatians (very similar to what was wanted to do with the
Joker movie).
It opens on 05/26/2021 so nothing can be defined or affirmed to date.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier

They are presented to two very close friends of the old Captain America (old because logically he was replaced by a soldier appropriating his name and all those referring to the old one) who in the initial plot are very indifferent to each other.
